What is Driver CPC?
The Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (Driver CPC) is a new qualification intended to help improve road safety & maintain high standards.
Driver CPC is 35 hours of periodic training completed every 5 years cycle, the training is split into 7 hour sessions. The deadline for the first 5 year cycle for LGV drivers is 10th September 2014 & PCV drivers 10th September 2013.
Drivers must complete 35 hours of Driver CPC Periodic Training every 5 years.
We offer a dedicated Driver CPC course, however we also offer Driver CPC hours through CIEH Emergency First Aid, ADR, Chemical Awareness and Manual Handling.
Who should attend?
Any driver operating a vehicle over 3.5 tonnes or a bus with 9 or more seats on a professional basis (hire or reward).
I have both Licences?
If you have both an LGV & PCV licence you can attend either course & count it towards your total 35 hours. You must split the training if you intend to drive both LGV & PCV after the cut off date; the training you complete should be relevant to your job.
Duration of Training
Each session covers 7 hours of periodic training completed over 5 days to give you the full 35.
